20-year-old Indian-origin soldier killed amid fighting in Gaza
Fierce fighting between Israel and Hamas. Israel Defense Forces are gradually penetrating deeper into the Gaza Strip. The Sunni militant group Hamas is retaliating. The fight is getting more bloody.
In this situation, an Israeli soldier of Indian origin was killed by Hamas in Gaza.
According to Israeli official sources on Wednesday, the 20-year-old staff sergeant named Halel Solomon was a resident of the city of Diamona in southern Israel. He was killed in clashes with Hamas forces near the Salah al-Din road in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday night.
Diomona Mayor Benny Bitan expressed his grief over Solomon's death in his Facebook post. "It is with great sadness that I report that Halel Solomon, son of Diamona, has been killed in the Gaza war," he wrote.
Note, the city of Diamona in Israel is known as 'Little India'. A large number of Jews of Indian origin live there. The 20-year-old Staff Sergeant Solomon was a resident of that city. His death cast a shadow of mourning on the whole area.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces are pushing deeper into Gaza. Hamas is fighting back and forth. So far, 15 IDF soldiers are reported to have died in the conflict. In the words of the Prime Minister of the Jewish state, Benjamin Netanyahu said, "There will be many sacrifices in this war. But the fight will continue until victory is achieved.”
The U.S. Prime Minister said:
U.S. citizen Jawa Saidon said his citizens would begin to fight in Baal Gaza, leaving hundreds of residents indigenous and devastated Palestinian territories. "We expect American citizens to leave today, and we want to see an exit tomorrow. We will not stop working to get Americans out of Gaza," Biden tweeted.
Meanwhile, the Hamas-run government in Gaza said that Israeli airstrikes had targeted an apartment building in a refugee camp near Gaza City, leaving many dead and wounded. The reason for the strike was immediately known. The first group of foreigners sailed to Gaza today via the Rafah crossing.
"The yellow stars on the shirt remind me of Hitler", the Israeli ambassador stormed the United Nations
The United Nations has called an emergency meeting on the war that has erupted between Israel and Hamas.
Although no specific solutions emerged from that meeting, one image became the focus of discussion. Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erden, represented his country by wearing a yellow star emblem on his coat.
During his speech, Israeli ambassador Gilad Erden said, "It seems that some of you have not been educated in the last 80 years." You have forgotten what this organization was formed for.
Gilad said that like his grandparents, millions of Jews will wear a Yellow Star. Then he stood up from his seat and said 'never again'. He said this yellow star is a matter of pride for him. Not only this, this yellow star will remind you to 'wake up now, speak up for what is right'.
Now the question arises as to why he wore a yellow star. Why does he talk about his team members and how they relate to Hitler and World War II?
